The Stirling Ranges are a pretty special part of Western Australia. A state made up of largely, dry, flat, harsh landscapes, feels somewhat pleasantly interrupted by the Stirling Ranges in the south-west. The peaks reach high above the surround landscape and provide some incredible views as well as great hikes and beautiful drives. On this morning I arrived at the base of Bluff Knoll shortly before sunrise to a clear sky which looked like it would provide little for me photographically. How wrong I was! Within 10 minutes the ranges (as they are known to do) whipped up some of their own weather and some clouds began to form right as the sun was rising. This made for some great colour and light. There really is no better way to kickstart the day than seeing something like this!
